Rubber Insulation

Nitrile Rubber Insulator (Superlon, Malaysia Made) offered by us is a flexible as well as lightweight elastomeric nitrile foam material that is designed primarily for thermal insulation purposes. These Nitrile Rubber Insulation are generally black in color but can also be made available in a wide variety of colors as per the request of the customers. Available in tubing or sheet form, foam rubber insulation self-adhesive tapes are also part of product line. These extruded flexible tubing are specially designed to fit standard diameters of steel and copper piping. Further, the sheets are available in standard per-cut sizes or in roll forms.

In addition to wide usage for thermal insulation, SUPERLON's inherent characteristics as well as physical properties also allow it to be manufactured and redesigned for use in sport equipment rubber grips, support, handles, rest, shock absorber and padding; foamed pipes for ornamental and toys; special industrial-foamed pipes; steering wheel cover and thermo items. SUPERLON's continuous improvement in manufacturing technology as well as in product designs has also helped it to be firmly established as leader in heavy duty and comfortable fitness and sport equipment handgrips.

Features of Nitrile Rubber Insulation

  • Low thermal conductivity (K value) that makes it highly efficient and effective in insulation of
  • Cooling/heating systems
  • Thermal blister closed cell structure forms impermeable layer that is in itself a good vapour barrier
  • It is suitable for application within temperature range of -40degC +105oC
  • Material has been specially compounded to be self-extinguishing in nature
  • Superlon has excellent ozone and ultraviolet resistance
  • It is CFC, asbestos, chlorine and fiber-free and does not cause skin allergy
  • It is also inert to most chemical agents and neutral to pipe metals
  • The inherent flexibility of material makes installation fast, easy and economical
  • It is able to withstand tearing, rough handling as well as sever site conditions
  • Much lesser space required for Superlon as thinner wall is required due to its low K value as compared to other insulation types
  • The smooth surface of Superlon material gives finished installation a neat and aesthetic appearance
  • No coating is necessary on most indoor installations

Technical Specifications

  • The above average physical properties are values obtained in accordance with accepted test methods.
  • At -40oC Superlon Closed Cell Insulation becomes hard and as temperature drops below -40oC that will be increasingly brittle; however this hardening characteristic does not affect thermal efficiency/water vapor permeability
  • The Fire Rating standard method of tests is also conducted under controlled laboratory conditions is measure of material to spread flame when compared to known standard and is not intended to reflect hazards presented by this or any other material under actual fire conditions.
